Privacy Policy

One number, in your browser's local storage, under the key mz:sessions. It counts how many games you have started, so the page can show it back to you. It never leaves your device, it is not sent anywhere, and it is not tied to any identifier.

Clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings removes it, and nothing breaks — the counter simply starts at zero again.

Google Analytics adds its own cookies on top of that, described below. Nothing else is stored: the typefaces are downloaded when the site is built and served from this domain, so opening a page here does not quietly make a request to a font service either.

The board on the home page, the download page, the play page, and two of the guides is loaded in a frame from www.vitamahjong.com, which belongs to the game's developer. This site has no access to anything inside that frame, and no control over what it loads.

When one of those pages opens, your browser connects to that domain and to Google's advertising servers, because the game shows ads. Those parties can see your IP address and browser details and can set their own cookies and identifiers, under their own policies rather than this one. The relevant ones are Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data on sites that embed its services.

Two details that are easy to get wrong, so they are stated plainly: the frame starts loading shortly after the page appears rather than waiting for you to press Start, so the connection happens even if you never play. And the pages without a board — the guides index, the about page, and this one — reach neither that domain nor its ad servers.

A content blocker or a browser set to reject third-party cookies will limit what that frame can do. It may also stop the board from loading, which is a trade this site cannot make on your behalf.

The site is static files served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it processes the request itself — your IP address, the time, the page requested, your browser's user agent — to deliver the page, cache it near you, and block attacks. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for what they do with that.

This site keeps no server-side log of its own, runs no database, and has no back end that could store anything about you.

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-JQPQWZ980C) to count visits and see which pages get read. It sets cookies in your browser, usually named _ga and _ga_*, and sends Google your IP address, the page you are on, the page you came from, and rough details about your browser and device.

Google shortens the IP address before storing it and does not make it available to this site. What this site can see is aggregate: how many people opened the how-to-play guide last week, not who they were.

To keep out of it: block cookies for this domain, use any content blocker, or install Google's own opt-out browser add-on. Nothing on this site stops working if you do — there is no feature here that depends on being measured.

What Google does with the data is governed by Google's privacy policy, not by this page.

Mail to contact@vitamahjong.me is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to an ordinary mailbox. Your address, whatever you write, and anything you attach are readable by the one person who runs this site, and they pass through Cloudflare and the mailbox provider on the way.

Messages are kept while the matter is open and for a reasonable period after, in the same way anyone keeps their email. Your address is not added to any list, not used to contact you about anything else, and not passed on.

No data is sold, rented, or traded. There is no mailing list, no newsletter, no push notification, no fingerprinting script, and no advertising placed by this site on its own pages. Nothing here builds a profile to sell or to target advertising with, and the analytics cookies above are read only on this domain — they do not follow you to other sites.

Because nothing identifiable about you is stored on any server this site controls — the analytics data sits with Google, not here, there is in practice nothing to request a copy of and nothing to ask to have deleted. The counter on your device is yours to clear at any time, without asking anyone.

For anything held by Cloudflare or Google, their policies linked above are the right place to start, because this site cannot reach into their records on your behalf.

Mahjong solitaire is played by all ages and nothing here is aimed specifically at children. No account exists and no personal detail is ever requested, so nothing that would identify a child is knowingly collected. The analytics above count pages, not people, and are not used to single anyone out.

The date above is when this page was last changed. Anything that alters what is collected gets written here before it ships, not after.

This policy exists in English only, and the other language versions of the site link to this same page. That is deliberate: a legal text is worth more accurate in one language than approximate in eight. If anything here is unclear in your language, write in and it will be explained.
