A blank board, an endless spinner, or a frozen game — the common causes and what to try in order.

Start with a hard refresh
A stale cached file is the most frequent cause of a blank game area. A hard refresh forces the browser to fetch everything again rather than reusing what it stored.
Use Ctrl and F5 on Windows, or Command and Shift and R on a Mac. On a phone, close the tab completely and open the page again.
Check whether an extension is blocking the game
Content blockers and privacy extensions sometimes block the frame the game loads inside, which leaves an empty rectangle where the board should be.
Open the page in a private window, where most extensions are disabled by default. If the game appears there, an extension is the cause and can be allowed for this site.
Confirm the browser is current
The game draws its board with WebGL, a browser feature that older versions handle poorly or not at all. Browsers more than a few years out of date often show a black area instead of tiles.
Updating to a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari resolves most rendering failures of this kind.
Give the first load more time on a slow connection
The game downloads its engine and artwork before the first board appears, and that download is several megabytes. On a weak mobile connection this can take noticeably longer than an ordinary page.
Leave the tab open and in the foreground for a full minute before deciding it has failed. Background tabs are throttled by most browsers, which stretches the wait further.
If the board loads but runs slowly
Frame rate problems usually come from other demanding tabs competing for the same graphics resources. Closing video calls, streaming tabs, and other games frees that capacity.
Playing in fullscreen also helps on laptops, because the browser can then skip compositing the rest of the page on every frame.
